Duplication of Benefits

CDBG-DR funding is intended to address long-term recovery needs that still remain after all other assistance has been exhausted

• The county must ensure that this funding is used to address gaps and does not duplicate the benefits of other federal assistance programs
• A duplication occurs when a beneficiary receives assistance for a cumulative amount that exceeds the total need for a specific recovery purpose
• Keeping receipts for repairs and documentation of previous assistance with disaster related costs is highly encouraged
