What is CDBG-DR?

Overview

Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funds are appropriated by Congress and allocated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to support recovery in areas impacted by federally declared disasters. For Volusia County, these funds provide vital resources to address long-term recovery needs, with a particular focus on assisting low and moderate income households and communities. The flexibility of CDBG-DR funding allows the County to invest in a wide range of recovery activities, including disaster relief, long-term recovery, restoration of infrastructure, housing, and economic revitalization. This funding helps ensure that Volusia County residents and neighborhoods most affected by disaster have the support needed to rebuild and recover.

CDBG-DR Allocations for Volusia County:
Hurricane Ian: $328.9 million
Hurricane Milton: $133.5 million
